Books on the Nightstand

These books are literally piled up on my nightstand waiting to be read.  If only I had more time…

Feel free to leave a comment if you’ve read any of these.  I plan to post book reviews as I complete them.

Jesus: A Theography by Leonard Sweet and Frank Viola (just finished)

Celebration of Discipline by Richard Foster (Reading through this one slowly with others)

Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas (The marriage book I would write if I were going to write one)

When Helping Hurts: How to Alleviate Poverty without Hurting the Poor and Yourself by Steve Corbett and Brian Fikkert

Sit, Walk, Stand by Watchman Nee (A short little book I’ve read before, but wanting to reread it)

  1. Celebration of Discipline is great. I haven’t read it but I have listened to it twice while driving. A book I definitely would like to own.
I also have Sacred Marriage now on my wish list. I see that there is also a devotional by the same name. The only thing with devotionals you can really only do one at a time maybe two and this takes discipline as your 2013 post eluded to. I share the sentiments in that post very much.
Blog looks great by the way.

    • I read that the Sacred Marriage devotional book contains additional material that didn’t get worked into the original book. So it’s not just a repeat of the same material. Thanks for the encouragement!
